All limestone carried at Belmont Mills Inc. meets the specifications of the Ohio Department of Transportation. This standard allows for the stone to be used on state and county road work, and will hold up to many years of heavy traffic without breaking down.
#1 and 2 Limestone
This material has a 4 inch top size, it is too bulky to be used as a surfacing material; however, it makes an excellent stone for subgrade stabilization. Used for construction of entrances and ditch lining. Will not compact.
#57 Limestone
This material has a 1-1/2 inch top size and is a clean material. Often used for backfill for retaining walls and sub-base for sheds and small garages. Commonly used for top dressing drive ways. This product will not compact.
#304 Limestone
This material has a 2 inch top size and is a clean material. It is made up of a mixture of coarse stone and crushed stone dust. Used as a road base, under concrete slabs, driveways or walking paths. This material compacts very well.
#4 Limestone
This material has a 3 inch top size, it is bulky but is somewhat easy to handle. Used primarily in drainage situations and as a spreadable base for driveways that can not handle a lot of rain.
#8 Limestone
This material has a 1/2 inch top size. It will not compact. It is used for decorative purposes and walkways, as well as one of the raw materials used to produce asphalt. It can also be used as pipe bedding material in some situations.
#411 Limestone
This material has a 3/4" inch top size and is a clean material. It is made up of a mixture of coarse stone and crushed stone dust. Used as a road base, under concrete slabs, driveways or walking paths. This material compacts very well.
